Original concept by Rebecca DePrisco and Gaby Granado
The Concept
In order for stars to grow big and strong, they must feed on positive energy. That’s where the Star Warriors come in - each Warrior is matched up with a baby star that gives them fantastical powers, which the Warriors must use for good deeds. Most star babies are given to prim and proper children - not these rude, angsty, troubled kids. Starmaster just happens to have unique ideas of where the root of true human goodness lies. Using the star babies for evil or selfish deeds corrupts them, a sickness that the mysterious entity Vandon seems determined to spread. Now this ragtag team of pre-teens must stop the spread of Vandon’s influence and overcome their own personal issues in order to save the world.
Babs is a pugnacious young girl with a strong right hook and (pre)teenage angst. After a lonely and vitriolic childhood she is quick to snap and slow to trust. Being forced into a team of equally troubled kids - vandals, gamblers, liars, trespassers, etc. - has been jarring for her, but slowly she and the rest of the team find in each other the power to change themselves.

Our Goal
We hope to continue the recent media trend of modern, positive representation, combining uplifting and meaningful morals with a light-hearted tone. We strive for organic diversity of people and families from all different races and backgrounds without the feeling of “tokenism”, as well as tackling issues today’s kids deal with that are often ignored in the media, such as homophobia, racism, and prejudice.
